Overview
Noctis Open Scientific Studio (“Noctis”) is committed to respecting your privacy.
This policy covers three separate things: our apps, purchases, and this website. They are described separately because they behave differently. Our apps do not collect personal data. A license for Noctis Constellation is bought through our reseller, which handles your payment. We process your email address only if you voluntarily choose to subscribe to Noctis updates through our mailing provider.
Our apps
Noctis Equation Studio and Noctis Paper Studio do not collect personal data.
They do not require an account, contain no analytics or tracking software, and display no advertising. Your equations, documents, settings, and other content are not transmitted to Noctis. Paper Studio compiles documents on your device. If you save a project in iCloud Drive or another cloud-backed location, that provider handles storage and synchronisation according to your settings.
You can open our newsletter sign-up form from this website. It is hosted by Brevo, is not a feature of the apps, and using an app never subscribes you to any mailing list.
Noctis Constellation
Noctis Constellation does not collect personal data. It has no account, analytics, tracking, crash reports or advertising. Your repositories, your code and your history stay on your Mac and are not transmitted to Noctis.
The Mac app connects to the network only in these cases:
- When you ask it to open a public GitHub repository, it reads that repository from GitHub, without signing in.
- When you activate or deactivate a license key bought in our store, and about once a week while it is active, it sends the key and the identifier of its activation to Lemon Squeezy to check it. Nothing about your Mac or what is on it is sent.
- Once a day it asks GitHub whether a later version has been published. The request says nothing about you, and you can turn it off in Settings.
As with any connection, those services see the IP address a request comes from. The terminal inside the app is a real shell on your Mac: the commands you run there connect wherever those commands connect.
On your Mac the app keeps your settings, the date your trial started and, if you have one, your license key. It never reads, keeps or shows the name or the email of whoever bought a key.
Purchases
Licenses for Noctis Constellation are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as reseller and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, your email address and your payment details, charges you, and sends your receipt and your license key, under its own terms and privacy policy. Noctis does not receive your card or payment details.
Noctis can see the name and email address of an order, and what was bought, in the store's records. We use them only to help with that order: a lost key, a refund, a question. Buying a license does not subscribe you to any mailing list.
This website
You do not need an account to browse this website.
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not currently use analytics services. We do not sell personal information.
If we introduce analytics or other data-processing features in the future, this policy will be updated before those features are used.
Our hosting provider, Vercel, may maintain standard technical server logs as part of operating and securing the website.
Newsletter and product updates
The subscription button opens a form hosted by Brevo in a new tab. Your email address is sent directly to Brevo. You must confirm your subscription by email before joining our mailing list. We use it only for Noctis product news, major updates, and related announcements.
We do not use your email address for unrelated purposes, sell it, or share it with advertisers.
Our mailing list is hosted by Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which processes email addresses and delivers messages on our behalf.
You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email. Unsubscribing stops future marketing emails. Your email address will be deleted from the active mailing list or retained only where necessary for legal, security, or suppression purposes, such as preventing accidental re-subscription.
You may also contact us through the Support page to request deletion of your email address or to ask what personal information we hold about you.
The hosted form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated submissions. Brevo and Cloudflare may process technical information needed to operate and protect the form under their own privacy policies.
